The fall hockey season is underway, and we have plenty happening at Crystal Fieldhouse.
The Monday 50+ league has two weeks in the books, while we are currently drafting teams for the Wednesday afternoon 60+ league.
And if you are even close to 60 and can play Wednesday afternoons we have room for you.
Wednesdays are the best as you get into Skaters Bar so early after the games you can still be home in time for some NHL action!
Wednesday 60+ — We Need 2–8 More Skaters
We are putting together six teams for the Wednesday afternoon 60+ league.
Game times will be:
- 2:30 PM
- 3:30 PM
- 4:30 PM
We need at least two more skaters to round things out. With two additional players, we would have 12 skaters per team.
We can comfortably add up to eight more players, which would give the teams a little more depth and help cover the inevitable vacations, appointments, sore knees and other things that seem to appear more often after age 60.
If you have been thinking about playing, now is the time to get in.

Monday 50+ — Two Weeks in the Books
The Monday night 50+ league has played its first two rounds, and we’re already seeing some close hockey.
September 21 Results
Antcliff 5 – Tucker 2
Antcliff got the season started with a three-goal win.
Phantom 6 – Fastenal 4
Last fall’s champion Phantom opened with a six-goal night.
Flint OT 1 – Milnes 0
Nothing like starting the season with a 1–0 Oldtimers hockey game.
Lukes Lawn 4 – Gears Beer 3
The defending summer champs started the fall season with a one-goal win.
Hamlin Pub 2 – Goyette 0
Hamlin Pub also started the year with a shutout.
September 28 Results
Week two tightened things up considerably.
Antcliff 4 – Flint OT 4
Gears Beer 4 – Phantom 2
Goyette 1 – Milnes 1
Lukes Lawn 4 – Hamlin Pub 2
Tucker 4 – Fastenal 4
That’s three ties in five games, so the early signs point toward another pretty balanced Oldtimers season.
Early Standings
After two games, Lukes Lawn is the only 2–0 team and sits on top with four points.
Antcliff and Flint OT are both unbeaten at 1–0–1 with three points each.
Gears Beer, Phantom and Hamlin Pub each have two points, and there is obviously a long way to go.
Nobody should be planning the championship parade quite yet.

Here’s the next round of 50+ games:
7:15 PM — Milnes vs Phantom
8:15 PM — Lukes Lawn vs Antcliff
That one gives Antcliff an early shot at the only 2–0 team.
9:15 PM — Gears Beer vs Tucker
10:00 PM — Goyette vs Flint OT
10:15 PM — Hamlin Pub vs Fastenal
